Technical data: five layers, latex-free ear loops

Five layers of nonwoven with a meltblown filter at the centre: together they retain at least 94% of particles, as FFP2 under EN 149:2001 + A1:2009 requires. The mask has no exhalation valve, so it also filters the air you breathe out. Stretch ear loops and the reinforced nose clip give a tight seal, while breathing resistance stays low.

Five-layer construction

  1. Outer layer · outsideSpunbond (PP)
  2. Filter layer 1ParaTherm Loft 211/50 (PET/PP)
  3. Filter layer 2Meltblown + spunbond (PP)
  4. Filter layer 3Spunbond (PP)
  5. Inner layer · insideSpunbond (PP)

Latex-free ear loops (PA/EL), nose clip made of PE-coated steel wire. The materials contain no natural rubber latex components.

How the YOU-M4 seals tightly: put it on in six steps

An FFP2 mask only protects when it seals tightly. The steps follow the technical data sheet and work well for briefing your team.

  1. Two hands with a drop of disinfectant, a folded FFP2 mask beside them

    Clean your hands

Wash or disinfect your hands and check the mask for damage.

  2. Two hands unfold an FFP2 mask and pre-bend the nose clip

    Prepare the mask

Unfold the mask and pre-bend the nose clip slightly. Then place it under your chin.

  3. Person in profile pulls the ear loop of the FFP2 mask over the ear

    Fit the ear loops

Pull both ear loops over your ears without twisting them.

  4. A hand pulls the ear loop of an FFP2 mask outward, the loop stretches, a red double arrow shows the direction of pull

    Adjust the ear loops

Pull the ear loop gently: it stretches until the mask sits snug and comfortable.

  5. Person presses the nose clip onto the nose with their fingertips

    Shape the nose clip

Fit the mask and nose clip to your face and nose with both hands.

  6. Person covers the mask with both hands to check the fit, a tick confirms

    Check the fit

Place your hands over the mask and breathe out strongly. No air should escape at the edges.

Good to know

  • Single use: wear for one shift at most, do not clean or reuse.
  • Replace as soon as the mask is damaged, soiled or damp.
  • Beards or facial hair along the sealing edge prevent a tight fit.
  • No protection against gases or vapours, does not supply oxygen.

More about FFP2
What do FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 mean?

These are the three protection classes for particle-filtering half masks under the European standard EN 149. They set the minimum share of particles the mask retains: 80% for FFP1, 94% for FFP2 and 99% for FFP3. There is also a limit on total inward leakage, meaning air that gets past the filter and the edges: at most 22% for FFP1, 8% for FFP2 and 2% for FFP3. In filtration, our FFP2 masks meet the requirements of FFP3. The PREMIUM FFP2 YOU-M4 is certified as an FFP2 mask. Where an FFP3 mask is required, for example under occupational safety rules, that requirement applies.

Is the PREMIUM FFP2 YOU-M4 really tested?

Yes. DEKRA tested the model to EN 149:2001 + A1:2009 and also monitors ongoing production under Module C2, which means the notified body checks samples from ongoing production. You can see this from the CE 0158 printed on every mask: 0158 is DEKRA’s identification number.

Is the mask comfortable for a whole shift?

That is what it is built for: stretch ear loops, a reinforced, easily adjusted nose clip and low breathing resistance. Dermatest rated its skin compatibility “very good” in a clinical study. As a single-use mask, the YOU-M4 is worn for one shift at most.

Where is the mask made?

On our own production lines in Bad Dürrheim in the Black Forest, from materials from Germany. You buy directly from the manufacturer.

How fast is delivery, including large volumes?

We usually dispatch on the day you order. Within Germany, your order arrives in 1–3 working days; delivery to Austria and Switzerland takes a little longer. You can order the box, Big Pack and master carton directly in the shop. From one pallet, you receive a quote with a fixed delivery date.

Why does an FFP2 mask from Germany cost more than imports?

You pay for production in Germany with materials from Germany, monitored by DEKRA, and for clinically tested skin compatibility. Every mask can be traced by batch and date of manufacture. The pack size lowers the price per piece: it is lowest in the master carton.

Are there volume prices and bulk orders for hospitals?

Yes, through the pack size: the larger the pack, the lower the price per piece – from €24.95 for the box of 25 to €329.95 for the master carton of 675. Within Germany, delivery is free from an order value of €100. From one pallet of 10,800 pcs and for framework agreements, we prepare a quote for you.

How can I pay?

With PayPal, Klarna, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay. Businesses and facilities can buy on invoice by arrangement.

For hospitals and retailers: a quote from one pallet

From 10,800 pcs, we send you a quote with a fixed delivery date, direct from the manufacturer. We have already supplied 300 hospital sites in Germany.
